MonkeyBeat 28: Michael Lucas Interview

Mike Lucas is mostly known as the bass player for The Phantom Surfers. However, he has had a long a storied career in bands dating back to the mid-70's, each band with its own special gimmick.
He was kind enough to talk to me about his various bands, his views on shtick bands, getting hassled by Dick Dale's legal representative, helping form the Trashwomen, and his latest work as a crime author.

The Phantom Surfers - Gammera
The Phantom Surfers - I know It When I Hear It (w/ Rudy Ray Moore)
Sir Dance-A-Lot & His Dancing Romancing Pranceteers - Sir Dance-A-Lot Theme

I know it's a common internet rumor but Mike Lucas has nothing to do with that band. However, the lead singer of the Knights, Mike Andrews, does look a lot like Mr. Lucas.
I might ask Mr. Andrews to do the show sometime in the future.
